  • The backbone of Oriental Pearl TV Tower is three gigantic hollow columns with a diameter of 9 meters and a height of 287 meters. Its base is supported by three inclined columns with a diameter of 7 meters. There are three large spheres suspended at an altitude of 112 meters, 295 meters, and 350 meters, respectively. The top sphere is called Space Capsule , with a diameter of 16 meters and a center elevation of 342 meters. The middle sphere is called Upper Sphere , with a diameter of 45 meters and including 9 floors. The bottom sphere has a diameter of 50 meters and a center elevation of 93 meters. The three gigantic columns are lined by 5 beams to form 5 small spheres. Each sphere is about 12 meters in diameter and is used as high-altitude hotel. There are three decorative spheres on the base. Oriental Pearl TV Tower with eleven spheres in various sizes resting in the grassland creates a magnificent image.

    • There are four sightseeing floors in Oriental Pearl TV Tower for travelers to enjoy the city view at different heights.
      The Space Capsule at 350 meters high is the highest sightseeing floor. It shows the sci-fi charm of the universe scene in a futuristic style. Travelers not only can explore the mystery of the universe, but also enjoy a bird's-eye view of Shanghai City.
      The floor at 263 meters high is the main sightseeing floor of Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is the best place to get the full city view. Travelers can enjoy the amazing view on both sides of Huangpu River from here. One side is modern skyscrapers, and the other side is the historical buildings.
      The transparent sightseeing corridor at 259 meters high is the most exciting. The corridor is made of full transparent glass and is 150 meters in circumference. Walking on it, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Huangpu River and experience the feeling of walking in the clouds.
      The sightseeing floor at 90 meters high is the best place to enjoy the historic buildings on the Bund. It is an outdoor corridor. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Huangpu River more clearly without the block of glass.

    • Shanghai Municipal History Museum is in the basement of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The Museum displays the history of Shanghai until the communist takeover in 1949.
