Brief Itinerary

  • Day 1. Reach Beijing. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace.  
  • Ming Tomb, Badaling Great Wall. Overnight train to Xian.  
  • Reach Xian. Ancient City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum, Shuyuanmen Street.   
  • Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Bell and Drum Tower Square. Overnight train to Shanghai.  
  • Reach Shanghai. The Bund, Shanghai Old Street, Shanghai Museum, People's Square.  
  • Day 6. Yu Garden, Pudong New District, Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Road. Departure.  

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1. Reach Beijing. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace.  

  • Arrive in Beijing. Be met from airport or train station by private vehicle and driver.
    Drive to visit Tiananmen Square. As the largest city plaza in the world, Tiananmen Square has the important position for Chinese people. It has witnessed the founding of the new China.
    Enter the Forbidden City from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Forbidden City is the largest palatial structure in the world. It was the home of emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The palace is the treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics.
    Have lunch in a restaurant of downtown Beijing.
  • After lunch, proceed to Summer Palace. Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty as a summer resort. It mainly consists of Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill. There are more than 100 ancient structures in the Summer Palace.
    Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

  • Ming Tomb, Badaling Great Wall. Overnight train to Xian.  

  • Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle at 08:30 am. Luggage on board.
    Drive one and half hours to Ming Tombs, which is the final resting place of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors. We will visit the largest and the best preserved tomb, Changling. The Ling'en Hall in the Changling is the largest and the most magnificent building of nanmu wood that still exists in China.
  • After lunch, continue to Badaling Great Wall. As one of the seven wonders in the world, great wall is a must-go attraction when you are in Beijing. Badaling is the most visited section. It is close Beijing city and featured with magnificent architectures and breathtaking nature scenery.
    Afterwards, be transferred to Beijing West Railway Station before 19:00 to connect Soft Sleeper overnight train Z19 to Xian.

  • Reach Xian. Ancient City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum, Shuyuanmen Street.   

  • Arrive in Xian. Be met from railway station at about 08:30 in the morning.
    Drive to Ancient City Wall. Constructed in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) for military defense, Xian Ancient City Wall boasts the gates, tunnels and watch towers. It is one of the most important landmarks of Xian city.
    Move on to Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the landmark buildings of Xian. The present 7-storey Pagoda was built with layers of bricks without any cement in between.
  • After lunch, proceed to Shaanxi History Museum. The museum is the first huge state museum with modern facilities in China, featuring an architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. Over 1,700,000 cultural relics are displayed in the museum to show the history and culture of Shaanxi province and ancient China.
    Then visit Shuyuanmen Street. This is a culture street with ancient architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasties style. The street got its name because of the Guanzhong Academy situated on this street, which is one of the four famous ancient academies in China.
    Be transferred to hotel after the sightseeing.

  • Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Bell and Drum Tower Square. Overnight train to Shanghai.  

  • Be met from hotel at 08:30am.
    Drive to Terracotta Warriors and Horses, which is regarded as the Eighth Wonder of the World. More than 8,000 different looking pottery figures,130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses are displayed in three excavated pits.
  • Then walk around on Bell and Drum Tower Square. The square is the good place for local people to relax and enjoy leisure time. The Bell Tower and Drum Tower with a history of over 600 years face each other across the square.
    Be transferred to Xian Train Station to connect Soft Sleeper overnight train Z94 to Shanghai.

  • Reach Shanghai. The Bund, Shanghai Old Street, Shanghai Museum, People's Square.  

  • Arrive in Shanghai.Be met from railway station by private guide and vehicle.
    Drive to The Bund. Famed as "Exhibition of International Buildings", The Bund is the most popular place of Shanghai and full of history and culture. Historical buildings of different architectural styles are located on its west side.
    Visit Shanghai Old Street. The street is filled with architectures of Ming and Qing style. You seem to have got back to the bustling street of over one hundred years ago. Many hundred-year-old stores can be found on this street.
  • After lunch, move on to Shanghai Museum. Located in People's Square, the museum covers eleven galleries in a 4-floor building. More than 120,000 pieces of cultural relics are housed in the museum.
    Then take a stroll on People's Square. The square is the center of politics, culture, commerce and transportation of Shanghai. It is also the site of Shanghai Municipal Government Mansion.
    Be transferred to hotel for check in.

  • Day 6. Yu Garden, Pudong New District, Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Road. Departure.  

  • Be met from hotel lobby at 08:30am by private guide and vehicle.
    Visit Yu Garden first. With a history of over 400 years, Yu Garden is a traditional garden in southern China. The garden features authentic old architectures, rockeries and exquisite carvings.
    Move on to Pudong New District. Covering an area of 570,000 square meters, Pudong New District is now considered a modern new urban district and Shanghai’s modernization and prestige as center of world commerce.
  • Continue to Oriental Pearl TV Tower. With 468 meters high in total, Oriental Pearl Tower is made up of 11 spheres with various interest, commerce, and recreation. The tower has four major sightseeing observatories at different heights.
    Proceed to Nanjing Road. The street is one of the most famous and bustling business streets in the world. Over 600 businesses on the road offer countless famous brands, superior quality, and new fashions.
    Afterwards, be transferred to airport or train station for departure.
