He ordered his army to planted large amount of trees and helped the villagers to farm. He did lots of good things. The second time in 1917, Feng Yuxiang started the Capital Revolution under this mountain, which overthrew the president of vote buying, drove out the last emperor Puyi and gave an end for thousands of years of feudal monarchy in China's history. During Feng Yuxiang's stay in Cishan Temple, what he did was just reading and meeting friends. He once met Li Dazhao, Zhang Xueliang, Kong Xiangxi, Deng Baoshan and other celebrities at that time.

      Legend and Story

    • There is a legend about the origin of Cishan Temple. During the reign of the Emperor Kang Xi in Qing Dynasty, there was a mad monk came to Tiantaishan for his spiritual practice. After he succeeded, the government bestowed him Lord Monk. Thus, Cishan Temple was also called Lord Monk Temple at first. The human body of the lord monk looked quite like the Emperor Shunzhi, who also became a monk in the later part of life. It is considered reasonable that the Emperor Shunzhi did his spiritual practice here. The reasons are as followed. The temple is closed to Beijing City and hidden. Although the temple is folk construction, it has some royal rules. For example, there was Chinese dragon in the colored paintings in Dabei Hall. The Emperor Kangxi usually go to visit Tiantaishan Mountain.

      Reviews from Travelers

    • Dream The history of the temple is not quite long. It was built in Qing dynasty. It was a gathering place for the temple fair and local fairs.
Xinyankong I usually passed there when I climbed the mountain. I think Wanshan Bridge is worth to visit.
Leila I love the place there. It is quite quiet and not crowd. I went around the temple by myself and felt very comfortable.
Mifenger It is deep in the mountain. The air is quite fresh. If you go in autumn, you can enjoy the red leaves.
Ganbian It is a small temple. Different size of palaces occupied almost all the temples. I went there in the last Laba Rice Porridge Festival and enjoyed the authentic delicious Laba porridge.
