Layout
-
Beijing Wildlife Park is divided into two main sections:
Self-driving Safari Zone
The park’s most popular feature. Visitors can drive their own cars (or take the park’s shuttle buses) through 5 themed areas (African Grassland, Asian Forest, Carnivore Valley, etc.). Animals like zebras, giraffes, and even lions roam freely, creating an immersive "safari" feel.
Pedestrian Zone
A more traditional but spacious layout with habitats built around a central lake and connected by paved walkways, gardens, and rest areas. The design ensures a logical flow for visitors to see all exhibits without excessive backtracking.
Highlights
-
Drive-Through Safari Area
The park's crown jewel. Visitors can tour this vast area by their own vehicle or on the park's dedicated sightseeing buses. You can see majestic animals like lions, tigers, bears, and zebras roaming freely in large, open landscapes.
Walking Area
Features beautifully designed zones like the Primate Zone, Reptile Hall, and Aviary. The pathways are shaded and well-maintained, perfect for a leisurely stroll between exhibits.
Panda House
A major highlight, this climate-controlled exhibit is home to the beloved Giant Pandas, offering a fantastic opportunity to see China's national treasure.
Animal Performances & Feeding Sessions
Scheduled educational shows featuring birds of prey, elephants, and other animals. Interactive feeding sessions (e.g., for giraffes, lemurs, and deer) are a huge hit with children.
Children's Farm
A hands-on area where younger visitors can interact with and feed domesticated animals like goats and sheep in a safe environment.
