Cemetery Area
-
The cemetery area serves as a primary exhibition hall. The architecture here is a fine example of Ming - Dynasty style. The Virtue Display Hall features a series of well - preserved structures such as the gatehouse, ornamental columns, stone statues of officials, spirit gate, stele pavilions, and pavilion hall.
The craftsmanship is incredibly sophisticated, with vivid and delicate carvings. The Longevity Section includes the tomb area gate, spirit path, and the tomb clusters. The tomb enclosures, five sacrificial vessels, and offerings tables are adorned with elaborate patterns, including mythological legends and historical allusions.
Some of the most exquisite high - relief carvings include the "Mantis Catching Cicada" picture, "Lion" picture, "Three Dragons Playing with a Pearl" picture, and "Twin Deer" picture, with over a hundred such artworks in total.
The tomb of Ci Youfang, a eunuch from the Imperial Horse Supervisor during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, also has unique stone carvings on its tomb enclosure, each telling a story of virtues.
Stone Carving Area
-
This area showcases a collection of unearthed epitaphs, stone coffins, and scattered stone carvings from Shijingshan District in recent years. These items not only add to the understanding of the local history but also provide more examples of the stone - carving techniques and cultural symbols of different eras.
