Panjiayuan antique market

Panjiayuan Antiques Market is located at the west side of the Panjiayuan Bridge on the Southern part of the capital's East Third Ring Road. Dubbed as the largest secondhand market in Asia, the market is a must-go place of Beijing, following the Great Wall and Beijing Duck Restaurant.

Occupying an area of about 48,500 square meters, the market is thought to be the largest of its kind both in China and Asia. You can got all kinds of folk antiques, handicrafts and second-hands here, from Mao caps to Ming pottery, Yinxing teapots to military binoculars, including Tibetan trunks, bronze door knobs, antique locks, wooden puppets, even actual kitchen sinks. There are people from 24 provinces doing business here. There are also many minority group people selling their ethnic goods here.

Panjiayuan Antiques Market opens every Saturday and Sunday. It is best to bargain down a price before you buy an antique, and it is hard to tell genuine from worthless fakes.
