- Day 1. Datong Arrival, Yungang Grottoes, Nine Dragon Screen, Huayan Monastery, Shanhua Monastery.
- Day 2. Datong-Taiyuan, Hanging Temple, Yingxian Wood Pagoda, Jinci Temple.
- Day 3. Wang Family Residential Compound, Pingyao Anicent City, Shuanglin Temple, Departure.
Detailed Itinerary
- Day 1. Datong Arrival, Yungang Grottoes, Nine Dragon Screen, Huayan Monastery, Shanhua Monastery.
Reach Datong and meet your guide at the exit of Datong Train Station in the morning.
Drive to Yungang Grottoes. With 252 caves and 51,000 statues, Yungang Grottoes is a classical masterpiece of the Buddhist cave art in China in the 5th and 6th centuries. It was included as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.- Then visit Nine Dragon Screen. With nine flying dragons and other patterns like plants, water and mountains, Datong Nine Dragon Screen is made of 426 colorful glazed tiles. It is the largest glazed screen in China.
Continue to Huayan Monastery. Named after the Huayan Sutra, Huayan Monastery was built in the Liao Dynasty(907-1125). Discover the magnificent architectures, sacred Buddha statues, exquisite frescoes and precious wooden pagoda in the temple.
Move on to Shanhua Monastery. Besides the largest architectures of Liao and Jin Dynasties(907-1234), the monastery also famous for Buddha sculptures, murals and Five-Dragon Screen.

- Day 2. Datong-Taiyuan, Hanging Temple, Yingxian Wood Pagoda, Jinci Temple.
Pick you up from the hotel lobby at 08:30 in the morning.
On the way to Taiyuan, we will visit Hanging Temple. Built in 491 during Northern Wei Dynasty, Hanging Temple is one of the most incredible sights in China. It was miraculously carved into the sheer cliff of Hengshan Mountain. The temple is the only existing temple with the combination of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
Then we will visit the oldest and highest wooden pagoda in China, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. With a history of over 900 years, this pagoda is a gem in the architectural field. Not a single nail was used in this all-wooden structure.- Arrive in Taiyuan. Proceed to visit Jinci Temple. Built in the Northern Wei Dynasty(386-534), Jinci Temple is a large-scale ancestral temple garden combining ancient architectures and natural landscape. The cypress, the long-life spring and the painted clay figures in the Saintly Mother's Hall are reputed as Jinci Temple's 'three wonders'.

- Day 3. Wang Family Residential Compound, Pingyao Anicent City, Shuanglin Temple, Departure.
Pick you up from the hotel lobby at 08:30 in the morning.
Drive to Wang Family Residential Compound. The construction of compound lasted over 300 years. Covering an area of about 250,000 square meters, Wang Family Residential Compound consists of five alleys, five forts, and five ancestral temples. It is the masterpiece of Chinese residential architecture of Qing Dynasty(1644-1911).- Go on to Pingyao Anicent City with intact city's layout and style of Ming Dynasty(1368-1644). The city has a history of over 2,700 years and is an outstanding example of Han Nationality's city. The ancient city walls, elegant residences, streets and alleys, banks and temples display a complete picture of cultural, social, economic, and religious life in the Chinese historical development.
Continue to Shuanglin Temple. With a history of about 1,400 years, Shuanglin Temple is known as the "treasure house of ancient painted sculptures". More than 2,000 painted sculptures of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties are housed in the ten halls.
Afterwards, transfer you to the Taiyuan Train Station to connect your next destination. - Breakfast, Lunch,
