Be picked up from downtown hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle at 08:30 am.
Drive one and half hours to visit Ming Tomb. Ming Tomb is the final resting place of 13 emperors, 23 empresses and a number of concubines of Ming Dynasty. Surrounded by Tianshou Mountains on three sides, there are total thirteen Tombs and a sacred way in the area. With a history of over 600 years, Ming Tombs is the best preserved mausoleum area in China. At present, only Changling Tomb, Dingling Tomb, Zhaoling Tomb and the Sacred Way are available to be visited.
We will visit one of the Ming Tombs - Changling Tomb.
Chang Ling is the final resting place of the third emperor ZhuDi and Empress Xu. Built from 1409 to 1427, Changling located at the foot of the Heavenly Longevity Hill. It is the head tomb of the thirteen Ming tombs, and also the largest one of them. The main building of the Changling Tomb (Ling’en Palace) is the best preserved tomb palace from the Ming Dynasty and the only huge palace made of camphor wood.- After lunch, we will drive to discover Great Wall of China.
Great Wall was built between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
We will visit the most famous section - Badaling Great Wall.
Badaling section of Great Wall was built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty. This part of the Great Wall is the best preserved and most visited section. It is 7600 meters long and 1000 meters above sea level, commanding a strategic position in ancient times.
