Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Beijing arrival.  
• 
  Arrive at Beijing airport.
  Be picked by private vehicle and English-speaking tour guide from Beijingservice.com and transferred to hotel for check in.
  Remainder of the day is at leisure.

• Day 2. Beijing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Olympic Park.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Walk around the Tiananmen Square before visiting Forbidden City. The square is the largest downtown square in the world.
  Enter Forbidden City to enjoy the essence of ancient Chinese palace architecture. Forbidden City was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties(1368-1911).
• After lunch in a local restaurant, drive about 30 minutes to Summer Palace. This largest imperial garden in China is a blend of natural scenery and artificial landscape.
  Move on to Olympic Park. Take an outside view of the stadiums of the 2008 Olympic Games. The most famous are Bird's Nest and Water Cube.
  Be driven back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 3. Beijing: Ming Tombs, Badaling Great Wall.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Start your trip with Ming Tombs, the final resting place of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors. Visit the largest and the first built tomb, Changling. It is divided into three courtyards.
• After lunch, proceed to Badaling Great Wall. As one of the seven wonders in the world, great wall is a must-go attraction when you are in Beijing. Badaling is the best preserved and most representative section of Great Wall of China.
  Be driven back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 4. Beijing Hutong, Temple of Heaven, flight to Xian.  Reach Xian and check in hotel.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Proceed to visit Beijing Hutong. Take a pedicab and drive through the narrow alleys to discover the culture and life style of old Beijing.
  Then visit Temple of Heaven. The temple is the largest sacrificial building complex in the world featuring precise structure and magnificent decoration.
• Afterwards, be transferred to airport for the flight to Xian.
  
  Arrive in Xian. Be met by local guide and escorted to hotel.

• Day 5. Xian: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqing Pool, Stele Forest Museum, Dumpling dinner and Tang Dynasty Show.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Visit Terracotta Warriors and Horses, the Eighth Wonder of the World. More than 6,000 different looking pottery figures depict the history of the Qin Dynasty from 221 BC-206 BC.
• Then proceed to Huaqing Pool. Huaqing Pool had been used as a hot spring site for over 6000 years and royal gardens for 3000 years. Listen to the love story between the Emperor Xuan Zong and his favorite concubine Yang.
  Move on to Stele Forest Museum. The museum is the largest and earliest museum collecting ancient stone steles in China.
• Have Dumplings for the dinner. With a history of about 1800 years, Chinese Dumpling is traditional food for Chinese New Year.
  Enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show. The show celebrates the prosperous Tang Dynasty(618-907) with music, dance and costumes.
  Be driven back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 6. Xian: Shaanxi History Museum, Great Mosque, Ancient City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  First go to Shaanxi History Museum. This large state modern museum presents the history and culture of Shaanxi province and Chinese ancient civilization.
  Then visit the largest and best-preserved Islamic mosque in China, Great Mosque. The Mosque possesses much Chinese tradition with design and artistic outlook.
• Go on to Ancient City Wall in the afternoon. Xian Ancient City Wall is the largest and most complete city wall in China. The wall was built over 600 years ago as a military defensive system.
  Continue to Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The pagoda is the masterpiece of the Buddhist architecture. The present 7-storey Pagoda was built with layers of bricks without any cement in between.
  Be driven back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 7. Xian flight to Kunming.  Reach Kunming, Flowers and Birds Market, Golden Temple.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel and transferred to airport for flight to Kunming.
  
  Arrive in Kunming. Be met by local guide at the airport.
• Drive to Flowers and Birds Market. It is a nice corner to know about the daily leisure life of local Kunming people.
  Move on to Golden Temple. This famous Taoist temple is the biggest and best preserved copper architecture remains intact in China.
  Be driven to the hotel for check in.

• Day 8. Kunming: Stone Forest.

  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Take a full-day excursion to the World Karst Landscape Museum, Stone Forest. Covering 400 square kilometers, Stone Forest is made up of large numbers of awesome natural rock formations with grotesque shapes. It has been regarded as “The First Wonder of the World”.

• Day 9. Kunming flight to Dali.   Reach Dali, Erhai Lake, Three Pagodas, Dali Ancient Town.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel and transferred to airport for flight to Dali.
  
  Arrive in Dali. Be met by local guide at the airport.
  Proceed to Erhai Lake. It is a beautiful highland lake of Yunnan Province and one of the seven largest fresh water lakes in China. Some Buddhist temples and villages are dotted around the lake.
• Then visit Three Pagodas. With a history of more than 1800 years, Three Pagodas are regarded as the symbol of Dali city and recorded the Buddhism development in this area.
  Continue to Dali Ancient Town. Imitating the layout of Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, Dali Ancient Town was built by the ancestors of the Bai ethnic group. Traditional Bai houses, unique workshops and temples are scattered in the town.
  Be driven to the hotel for check in.

• Day 10. Dali: Xizhou Ancient Town, Tie-dye Family Workshop in Zhoucheng,   Lijiang local Naxi family.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Start your today's trip with Xizhou Ancient Town, a classic Bai ethnic town. Many Bai traditional architectures in Ming and Qing Dynasties are retained in the town.
  Move on to a Tie-dye Family Workshop in Zhoucheng Ancient Village. Tie-dyeing(Bandhnu) is an ancient skill of dying fabrics using indigo extracted from yielding herbs, which can date back to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
  
  
• Then drive to Lijiang to visit a local Naxi family, where travelers can enjoy the Naxi Minorities evening party and Naxi farmer food.

• Day 11. Lijiang: Dry Sea, Spruce Plateau, Baisha Ancient Town and Baisha Murals, Rock Joseph's Former Residence.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to Dry Sea located at the east of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Dry Sea is a vast meadow surrounded on all three sides by mountains.
  Take the cable car to Spruce Plateau and overlook the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. This alp flowery meadow is regarded as the entrance to the heaven by the local people.
• Proceed to Baisha Ancient Town, which is the most pristine Naxi village. The town was the earliest political and spiritual center of Naxi ethnic minority.
  Enjoy Baisha Murals in Baisha Ancient Town. The murals describe the religious stories of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism with the fine and smooth lines, bright colors and vivid pattern.
  Go on to Rock Joseph's Former Residence in Xuesong Village. The photographs and used items of Rock Joseph, a specimen collector who first introduced Lijiang culture to the west comprehensively, are displayed in the residence.

• Day 12. Flight to Shanghai.   Reach Shanghai and check in hotel.

  Free in the morning and take flight to Shanghai in the afternoon.

• Day 13. Shanghai: Yu Garden, Nanjing Road, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, The Bund, Huangpu River Cruise.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Start to visit Yu Garden. Understand the art and skills of the traditional gardens from the pavilions, cloisters, bridges, ponds, rockeries and exquisite carvings.
  Go on to Nanjing Road, the busiest shopping street in Shanghai. Nanjing Road is a shopping paradise with over 600 businesses.
• Proceed to Oriental Pearl TV Tower. This 468-meter high tower is made up of 11 spheres with various interest, commerce, and recreation. The most thrilling is the completely transparent observatory at the height of 259 meters.
  Move on to the Bund. With 52 European buildings of different architectural styles built in the 19th century, the Bund is famed as "Exhibition of International Buildings".
  Take a cruise on Huangpu River to appreciate the charming landscape and discover the city's history.
