Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival
Arrive in Beijing.
Be met from airport by private vehicle and be transferred to hotel for checking in.

Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Ascend Tiananmen Rostrum, Forbidden City, Beihai Park, Shichahai Area, Beijing Hutong.

Visit Tiananmen Square. The Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions, the square is the final resting place of Chairman Mao Zedong. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Ascending Tian'anmen Rostrum situated in the north of Tian'anmen square, facing Chang'an street. It is the place that Chairman Mao claim the founding of The People's Republic of China.

Enter the Forbidden City from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Forbidden City is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years, 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty. As one of the World Cultural Relics, Forbidden City consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

Photo of HutongAfter lunch, we will visit Beihai Park. Beihai Park was first dug out in the 12th century, with the excavated earth used to form a central island. It is the oldest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. The park covers an area of 69 hectares including a 39-hectare lake. In the park, lakes and hills wind along pavilions and towers, trees and flowers. Spend around one hour in the park.

Visit Shichahai Area. Shichahai is a narrow water extended from the northwest to southeast, consisting of Xi Hai, Hou Hai and Qian Hai. Numbers of typical Hutong and Siheyuan Courtyards are scattered in Shichahai area. In the night, it is noisy, especially in the Bar Street.

Then driver to visit Beijing Hutong. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.

Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

Day 3.Mutianyu Great Wall, China Film Museum, outside view of Beijing Bird Nest and Water Cube.

Photo of Mutianyu Great WallDrive to visit Mutianyu Great Wall.  Located around 90 km northeast of Beijing, Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
Mutianyu section was first built in the mid-6th century. It is the longest fully-restored Great Wall with 22 original style watchtowers. Mutianyu Great Wall features picturesque landscape with 90% forest coverage rate. The scenery in spring and autumn is excellent. Mutianyu Great Wall is not so crowded as Badaling section. Climb the great wall on foot.

Then visit China Film Museum. China National Film Museum is the biggest film museum in the world, showing the history of 100 years of Chinese cinema. The Museum has 20 exhibition halls, housing 1500 films, and 4300 stills from works of 450 filmmakers. It also boasts the largest screen in Asia.

As the main stadium of the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Stadium, also called Bird's Nest, is located in the southern part of central area of Beijing Olympic Park. The National Stadium was used to hold the Olympic Games, the opening and closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, track and field events and the Soccer finals.
National aquatics center is one of the landmark constructures during the 2008 Olympic Games. It was the major swimming pool constructed for the 2008 Olympic Games. National aquatics center and National Stadium are separately located on both sides of the northern end of Beijing city central axis and they together form a complete Beijing's image of a historical and cultural city.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.

Day 4. Summer Palace, Lunch, National Art Museum of China, Wangfujing Street, Beijing Roast Duck Dinner, Acrobatic Show.

Driver to visit Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. The Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.

Move on to visit National Art Museum of China. The National Art Museum of China is a national museum dedicated to the collection, research and exhibitions of modern and contemporary artistic works in China.
The museum houses more than 100,000 pieces of various collections, most of which are creations around the establishment of new China. Some collections are masterpieces from the late Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The museum also collects hundreds of foreign artistic works. German collectors Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ludwig donated 117 pieces of foreign works in 1999, including four oil paintings by Picasso.

Then visit Wangfujing Street. Located near Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City, Wangfujing Street is the busiest commercial area in Beijing. It is a pedestrian street with shopping malls, booksores, souvenir shops, and the snack stores. The street is more active in the night.

Then go to taste Beijing Roast Duck and enjoy Chinese Acrobatic Show.
Be transferred back to your hotel after the show.
