Nanluoguxiang is the old Beijing Hutong. There are the best-preserved Siheyuan area. It is in the list of the 25 pieces of old town reserves. Now featured boutiques are the most famous and attractive scenic spots.
Why got its this name
Hutong is a Chinese word which means lane. The famous Hutong Nanluoguxiang in Beijing take the North-South main road as the trunk. It is about 800 meters. On the East and West sides of the main road, there are 8 parallel Hutongs. Many people called this Centipede Hutong. In Ming dynasty, people also called this lane Luoguoxiang for the middle of the lane is high and two ends of the lane are low. Luoguo is a Chinese word means title hunchback or arched. Later, Luoguxiang became the real name of the lane.
Nanluoguxiang well preserves the historical relics of Lifang from Yuan Dadu. The lane patterns are completed. Different patterns of mansions and houses lie there, which makes the Hutong a well-preserved jasper in Beijing's ancient capital style.
Nanluoguxiang is focused by fashion people and foreign visitors those years. That's because from the new century, bars appeared in this ancient lanes. Nanluoguxiang became third bar street after Sanlitun and Shichahai.
Some said that Sanlitun Bar Street is colorful, Shichahai dark is red and Nanluoguxiang is green. This comment not only refers to the natural color of those bars, but also the different cultural connotations. Each of the lanes here has its rich culture heritage and tells its own old story.
Dong Mianhua Hutong
Walking North in Nanluoguxiang, the 3rd Hutong on the East is Dong Mianhua Hutong. On the north near the entrance, there is Central Drama Academy. As the top university to learn stage performances and film&TV performances, it covers small area. But many drama and film stars learned and went out from here. It is also the old house of the deputy Prime Minister Jin Yunpeng.
Yu Er Hutong
It is the private old house of a chief minister in Qing dynasty. On the opposite side of Dong Mianhua Hutong, there is Yu Er Hutong. Here once lived Qi Baishi, the great master in traditional Chinese painting. Former residence of Qi Baishi has been opened to the public.
Honorable Mao Er Hutong
Ke Yuan in Mao Er Hutong
Keyuan is the former residence and garden of the great scholar Wen Yu in the late Qing dynasty. It is considered the private garden who had the most art value in late Qing dynasty.
The last Queen Wan Rong's home is also in Mao Er Hutong.

Some generals in Ming dynasty and officials in Qing dynasty lived in Qinlao Hutong.

Ju Er Hutong is worldwide famous. That's because the dangerous building renovation project designed by building master Wu Liangyong was given Asian architecture award in 1992 and World Habitat Award in 1993.
Wenyu Cheese Shop
Walking in Nanluoguxiang, if you accidentally find a group of people are in the crowd in the lane, do not be surprised. This has been a scenic spot in Nanluoguxiang. Wenyu Cheese Shop can be called the royal old shop. It is said that the owner of the cheese shop is an old master of Sanyuan Meiyuan. His ancestor had been taught by cooks in royal palace. Till now, the cheese shop still keeps its limited products. It will close when it sells out.
ChuangKeTie8 is a T shirt shop which gathers Beijing features together. The owner Jiang Senhai is an English man. He has been in Beijing for years. He put all his love of Beijing onto the T shirts he designed. All old things and factors can be decorations and logos of the T shirt in ChuangKeTie8.

Guo Ke (Passenger)

Chinese style courtyard, classical furniture and delicious coffee have been sweet memories of the visitors. Its self-created Lamb Kebab pizza and Gongbaojiding pizza are quite famous.
Shao Rou Ren Barbecue
Shao Rou Ren Barbecue is featured Japanese barbecue. There are sweet kissing photos all over the wall. Kissing for 10 seconds, you can get a piece of ox tongue for free.

This shop has over 12 years histories. Here you can find lots of old discs and professional art periodicals. This is a must-go place for young artists and movie fans.

Bar Street in Nanluoguxiang is a featured one. It is also the most completed Siheyuan courtyard area. The whole bar street are composed by Siheyuan cottage with little red lantern over the gate. Each of the bar provides free wifi service. They also provide exquisite Chinese and western snacks.

It's too crowd. Some of the places are good. I suggest not go there in holiday.
I often go there. It's near my house. Too many visitors go there, which makes people mountain and people sea. There are lots of foreigners. Food and snacks there are quite expensive.
This is a landmark of fashion. All food, little gadgets and clothes are novel. You will feel that your two eyes are not enough to view them.
To eat, drink and walk in the lane is quite a comfortable thing. It is suitable for those who loves gourmets. Nanluoguxiang is also near Houhai. I love it.
It is a gathering place of young people. The whole street is full of breath of youth. There are lots of snack boutiques.
I have heard about Nanluoguxiang for quite a long time. Finally I went there this summer. Small houses by the walking roads are special. I really love the constructions there.
