Dajue Temple was first built in 1068. The temple is also called one of the three Flower Temple in Beijing. There are 160 ancient trees including 1,000 year-old ginkgo biloba, 300 year-old magnolia.

History

A kindhearted man Deng Conggui funded to build a Temple in 1068 in Liao Dynasty and carved Da Zang Sutra. The temple was first called Qingshui Temple.
In Jin Dynasty, the Temple became the royal temporary dwelling palace.
In the year 1428, it was renamed Dajue Temple.
It was renovated in 1446 and 1478 both in Ming Dynasty.
In the end of Ming dynasty, the temple was ruined.
In the period of Emperor Kang Xi in Qing dynasty, the temple was renovated by Prince Yong. Siyi Palace and Lingyao Pavilion were constructed.
In the period of Qian Long, the temple was renovated in 1747. Sheli Tower was constructed and the nowadays pattern was formed.
In 1930, the mountain gate was hit by thunder and ruined.
At the beginning of People's Republic of China, the temple was barren and some of the palaces were ruined.
In 1952, Beijing Forestry Institute was constructed here and the temple was taken as the temporary school premises.
In 1972, the statue of III Buddhas was moved into Dajue Temple.
In August 1979, Dajue Temple was listed into the second Historical Relics Units.
In 1988, Dajue Temple was transferred to Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage.
On April 10, 1992, Dajue Temple was officially opened to the public.
In November 2003, it was renovated and the Buddhas statues were repaired.
On May 25, 2006, as the ancient architecture from Ming and Qing Dynasty, Dajue Temple was listed into the sixth National Key Cultural Protection Units.

It's really a quiet place for the peace of your heart. We drove there. The magnolia and ginkgo are the main features there. Many people went there to pray.

Driving there is a perfect choice. All temples are good place for inner peace. If time permits, you can also drink tea. There are also vegetarian restaurant and guests room.

This is not a large place but very quiet. The ginkgo there shocked us! Too beautiful!
