Day 1. Be met from airport. Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Folk Culture Garden.
Day 2. Xian Ancient Wall, Stele Museum to enjoy Chinese Handwriting, Shuyuanmen Street.  (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 3. Visit a Museum focused on Shanxi folk art, Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage.  (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 4. Terracotta Warriors Museum, Shannxi History Museum, Dumpling Dinner, Enjoy Qin Opera.  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Folk Culture Garden .
Big Wild Goose PagodaBe met from Xian Xianyang International Airport.

Drive to visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Originally built in 652 of Tang Dynasty, the pagoda is functioned to collect Buddhist materials that were taken from India by the hierarch Xuanzang. The pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. The present 7-storey Pagoda was built with layers of bricks without any cement in between. Now it is Landmark of the Xian.

Then visit a garden about local folk culture. This park displays the Shanxi local folk culture with the sculpture art, including the famous Shanxi eight strange folk customs: noodle is like belt, GuoKui is like pot, pepper is a dish, people wear handkerchiefs on their heads, etc.

Be transferred back to hotel.

Day 2. Xian Ancient Wall, Stele Museum, Shuyuanmen Street.

Morning visit of Xian City Wall. With a history of 600 years, Xian City Wall is the oldest, largest and best preserved city wall of China. It was used to be an important military defensive system to fortify the city. The Ancient City Wall boasts the gates, tunnels and watch towers. The South Gate and North Gate are the two main entrances to the inner city.

Then visit Stele Museum to enjoy Chinese Handwriting. The Stele Forest is the largest stone stele library in China with 3000 steles in the museum. Most of the steles are from the Han Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty and the successive dynasties. Covering an area of 31,000 square meters, the building of museum a classical courtyard styled.

Visit Shuyuanmen Street. Shuyuanmen Street is a pedestrian street from Stele Forest Museum to the gate of Guanzhong Academy. On both side are all antique building. There is a high archway(pailou) with ancient style at the entrance of the street.

Day 3. Museum focused on Shanxi folk art, Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Drive to visit a Museum focused on Shanxi folk art. Covering an area of 329, 253 square metes, the buildings and gardens in this museum are Ming and Qing styles. More than 33,600 culture relics including stone carvings, wood carvings, brick carvings, ancient residences of Guanzhong, calligraphic and painting works have been housed here. The main attractions are 40 ancient civilian residences from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, folk custom exhibit hall, theater tower and the garden.

Then visit Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The museums collects more than 20,000 pieces of works, tools, including raw materials and graphic materials provided by 1,000 folk artists and heirs in Xian. The exhibits include traditional paper cutting, embroidery, kites, flour, clay, doll whistles and nuclear carving, and so on. Many old objects that can hardly be found in modern life are also seen in the museum.

Day 4. Terracotta Warriors Museum, Shannxi History Museum, Dumpling Dinner, Enjoy Qin Opera.

Drive to visit Terracotta Warriors and Horse Museum. Terracotta Warriors is the Eighth Wonder of the World, because of its historical significance and uniqueness. It is the a form of funerary art buried with Emperor Qin Shihuang, the first unifier of China dating back to 210 BC. More than 6,000 different looking pottery figures depict the history of the Qin Dynasty from 221 BC-206 BC. Every figure differs from those around in facial features and expression, clothing, hairstyle, and gestures. 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses are scatted in three excavated pits.

Then visit Shannxi History Museum. Shannxi History Museum is the first huge state museum with modern facilities in China, featuring an architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. It is the best cultural heritage of Shaanxi Province and shows the systematic development process of Chinese civilization. The museum houses over 300,000 items including murals, paintings, pottery, coins, as well as bronze, gold, and silver objects.

Shannxi History MuseumHave Dumpling Dinner and Enjoy Qin Opera.
Chinese Dumpling is traditional food for Chinese New Year. With a history of about 1800 years, Chinese Dumpling had become a symbol of Chinese culture, expressing the people's wish for happy life. With different tastes, appearances and cooking techniques, dumpling dinner become a unmissable authentic dainty for travelers to Xian.

Qinqiang Opera is one of the oldest operas in Norwest area of China. It appeared in West Zhou Dynasty(1046BC-771BC) and became popular in the Qin Dynasy(216BC-207BC). There are 13 kinds of characters in Qinqiang Opera. The songs are bold and touching, the music is colorful and elegant, and the performances are simple, rough, delicate, profound and full of exaggeration.
