After lunch we will visit the
Lingering Garden and the Mountain Villa with Embracing Beauty.
Then we will visit Silk Factory.
After the whole day tour, we will transfer you back to boarding
place.

Tiger
Hill: Tiger Hill (Hu Qiu), the most famous sight of Suzhou, is 36
meters high and is set in a 20-hectare park. Huqiu (Tiger Hill) Park
is billed as "No.1 Scenic Place in the State of Wu". Legend
has it that this was where the remains of the King of Wu of the Spring
and Autumn Period were buried. A pagoda was built on the hill in 961,
which had begun to slant until its top deviated 2.34 meters from its
axial line. Every year the park is the venue of a flower show and temple
fair with a distinct local style. Han Shan Temple: Built in the Liang period (502-557) of the Southern
Dynasty, Hanshan Temple sits at Fengqiao Town of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
The temple compound is a scene of luxuriant green creating a secluded
atmosphere. The buildings in it are in an unadorned and natural style.
Hanshan Temple has been famous since the Tang Dynasty. It owes its eminence
to a poem entitled "Mooring for the Night at Fengqiao Bridge"
by Zhang Ji (A Tang Dynasty poet) as well as the toll of the bell in
the temple. The line of the poem "a toll is resounding at midnight"
makes the temple an appeal to many people and the toll is said to have
been the way for Han Shan and his apprentice Shi De to communicate their
lingering affection for each other. Fishing
Master's Garden: Beginning from the Song, construction of private
landscape gardens and courtyard houses came in vogue among local scholar-gentry,
so that for a time the city had as many as 270 such gardens. Aloofness
from the den and traffic of the outside world was what was on the minds
of owners of these gardens, in which limited space was cunningly arranged
to engender scenic spots that allowed owners to have nature all to himself
without stepping out of the city. Fishing-Net Master's Garden is a famous
one of them. Grand Canal: The Grand Canal, 1,764 km (about 1200 miles) in
length, is the longest man-made waterway as well as being the greatest
in ancient China, far surpassing the next two grand canals of the world:
the Suez and Panama Canals. Running from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province
in the south to Beijing in the north of China, Grand Canal connects
different river systems in China. Silk Factory: Suzhou is also famous for its silk production.
In the factory you can see how the silk is processed from the silk worm
to the final woven cloth.
