Detailed Itinerary

Lingering GardenBe met by English speaking tour guide and driver from hotel at 08:00am.

Drive to Suzhou to visit Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill is famous for the historic cultural and man-made scenery. Near the top of the hill is the burial place of the founding father of Suzhou who died in the 6th century BC. The millennium-old Yunyan Pagoda, also known as the Leaning Tower, stands on top of the hill and is regarded as the symbol of Suzhou.

Then visit Han Shan Temple. Right on the Grand Canal, Hanshan Temple is a Buddhist temple and has become the most important landmark of Suzhou. With a history of over 1400 years, the temple is famed for the poem "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge". The Bell Tower is an important component of the Hanshan Temple. When the bell is tolling, you will feel peaceful deep in soul, just like the poet who wrote the poem thousand years ago.

Grand CanalMove on to visit Lingering Garden. Lingering Garden is a classical Chinese traditional garden listed as culture relics by UNESCO in 1997. With an area of 23,310 square meters, it is celebrated for its artistic way of dealing with the spaces between various kinds of architectural form. The four parts of the garden are connected by corridors which twists and turns with the terrain, spiraling up hills, spanning valleys, skirting ponds, or leading to secluded nooks.

Visit Grand Canal. Grand Canal, also called Jing-Hang Grand Canal, is the longest artificial canal in the world. It was built even before the Great Wall. It is amazing to experience the wisdom of ancient Chinese in this canal. First built in Tang Dynasty, the 53-hole Belt Bridge lies across the old canal like a rainbow floating on the wave.

Visit a Silk Factory before transfer back to your hotel in Shanghai. ( , Lunch , )
