Brief Itinerary

Day 1. 08:00 am from hotel.  Xintiandi, former French concession,  Lunch, Shanghai Museum,  People's Square, Pudong New Area, the Bund, Souvenir Shop. Be transferred back to hotel in downtown Shanghai. (Lunch,)
Day 2. 08:00 am from hotel.  Tiger Hill, Han Shan Temple, Lingering Garden, Grand Canal, Silk Factory. Be transferred back to hotel in downtown Shanghai.


Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Shanghai City one day bus tour.

Drive to visit Xintiandi Area. Shanghai Xintiandi, "The City's Living-Room", is where "yesterday meets tomorrow in Shanghai today." The mail building here is Shikumen buildings which is the architectural symbol of Shanghai in the 20th century. The internal spaces of the building have been designed to suit the up tempo lifestyle of the 21st century, with infinite details that exude the casual elegance of modern city living.

Then visit former French concession. With European architectural style building and open courtryard, the area shows the picture of the Old Shanghai.

Have lunch in local restaurant.

Visit Shanghai Museum.
Shanghai Museum, known as the Museum of Ancient Chinese Art, was established in 1952. You will find more than 120,000 precious and rare works of art in 21 categories. In addition to the 11 galleries, the museum includes three exhibition halls, a tearoom, a restaurant, shops, a high-definition graphics hall, a library and a VIP garden.

Then visit People's Square. Renmin Square is a large public square adjacent to Nanjing Road in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, where the the place of new Municipal Government Mansion lies in. A blue and white dovecot can be seen in the southwest side of the square. Renmin Square is also the city's important transportation hubs.

the Bund photoMove on to visit Pudong New Area. Bounded by the Huangpu River in the west and the East China Sea in the east, Pudong New Area arose from China's policy of 'Opening Up' and economic development.
Covering an area of 570,000m², Pudong New District is now considered a modern new urban district and Shanghai's modernization and prestige as center of world commerce.

Then visit the Bund. The Bund, also called Zhongshan Road, is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. The most famous and attractive sights are the 52 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance, which are also located at the west side of the Bund. The Bund was the centre of Shanghai's politics, economy and culture hundreds of years ago, consulates of most countries. Many banks, businesses and newspaper offices were settled there, and that's why we have these art-like buildings.

Be transferred back to your hotel after a Souvenir Shop visit. Remainder of the day is at leisure. ( , Lunch , )

 

Day 2. Suzhou one day bus tour from Shanghai.

Drive to Suzhou to visit Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill is famous for the historic cultural and man-made scenery. Near the top of the hill is the burial place of the founding father of Suzhou who died in the 6th century BC. The millennium-old Yunyan Pagoda, also known as the Leaning Tower, stands on top of the hill and is regarded as the symbol of Suzhou.

Then visit Han Shan Temple. Right on the Grand Canal, Hanshan Temple is a Buddhist temple and has become the most important landmark of Suzhou. With a history of over 1400 years, the temple is famed for the poem "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge". The Bell Tower is an important component of the Hanshan Temple. When the bell is tolling, you will feel peaceful deep in soul, just like the poet who wrote the poem thousand years ago.

Grand CanalMove on to visit Lingering Garden. Lingering Garden is a classical Chinese traditional garden listed as culture relics by UNESCO in 1997. With an area of 23,310 square meters, it is celebrated for its artistic way of dealing with the spaces between various kinds of architectural form. The four parts of the garden are connected by corridors which twists and turns with the terrain, spiraling up hills, spanning valleys, skirting ponds, or leading to secluded nooks.

Visit Grand Canal. Grand Canal, also called Jing-Hang Grand Canal, is the longest artificial canal in the world. It was built even before the Great Wall. It is amazing to experience the wisdom of ancient Chinese in this canal. First built in Tang Dynasty, the 53-hole Belt Bridge lies across the old canal like a rainbow floating on the wave.

Visit a Silk Factory before transfer back to your hotel in Shanghai. ( , Lunch , )
