Urban Road Cycling Course is one of the venues for the Beijing Olympics
2008. Urban Road Cycling Course of Beijing will be the host to the event
of cycle race.
Changping District has cleared away 4,735 sq m of land around the road
cycling route, reforested 430,000 sq m of land, and repainted 150,000
sq m of building surface area since beginning improvements last year.
A clearly cleaner Changping is rising from the ground with more than
44.7 km of the 103.9 km route of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Road
Cycling event within its jurisdiction, Changping District is making
great strides to clean up and improve the 240 sq m area around the Jing-Chang
Expressway. Among the improvements will be 24 new public parks.The parks
will contain grass lawns, a plaza, a musical fountain, open-air dance
floor, art wall, children's activity area, environment-friendly parking
lots and public toilets.
According to Changping's Bureau of Parks and Woods, designers have considered
the unique characteristics of the natural surroundings of the town in
planning the flora of the parks.
The various events that are scheduled to take place at the Urban Road
Cycling Course of Beijing Olympics 2008 are given below:
， Cycling BMX: Under this category, there will be two events. They are
Cycling BMX for individual Men and individual Women.
， Cycling Road: Under this category, there will be 4 events. They include
individual road race Men, individual road race Women, individual time
trial Men and individual time trial Women.
， Cycling Track: The following events will take place under this particular
category: Individual Pursuit Men, Sprint individual Men, Keirin Men,
Team Pursuit (4000 m) Men, Madison Men, Individual pursuit Women, Olympic
Sprint Men, Points race Women, Points Race Men and Sprint Women.
， Mountain Bike: Cross-country Men and cross-country Women will be the
two events that is to take place under the mountain biking category.
， A large number of talented cyclists will participate at the Urban
Road Cycling Course, Beijing.
