The Capital Indoor Stadium is located at Baishi Bridge in Haidian District
in Beijing. It was built in 1968 . The stadium is currently being renovated
and expanded for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games . The total floor space
covered by the Capital Indoor stadium is being increased from 53,000
square meters to 54,600 square meters. The stadium has a capacity of
18,000 spectators . On April 16, 2008, it will host a trial run -- the
Good Luck Beijing 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament. If all goes
well, from August 23 to 24, 2008, the stadium will stage the volleyball
competitions for the Beijing Olympic Games.
