Beihang University Gymnasium
The
Beihang University Gymnasium is located at the Beihang University in
the Haidian District in Beijing. It has a capacity of 5,400 spectators.
The Beijing Aeronautical University Gymnasium will host the weightlifting
competitions of the Paralympics in 2008. As such, planners of the renovated
gym fully took into account the special needs of people with disabilities.
From the very beginning, barrier-free ramps, enlarged entrances, and
accessible elevators, restrooms, and seats were included in the planning
of the reconstruction in order to meet the requirements of the Olympic
and Paralympic Games.
