Shamian Island, also known as Shameen Island or Shamin Island, is a oval island covering an area of 0.3 sq. meters. It is located in the Liwan district, west of Guangzhu.
The island was divided into two concessions given to France and the United Kingdom by the Qing Dynasty government in the 19th century, so the buildings here are Western style. The famous buildings include French Catholic church, British Protestant church and Former British HSBC Bank. It is a tourist attraction for Guangzhou's foreign trade and historical relics.

Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is one of the three most famous commercial centers in Guangzhou. It is located in Liwan District, also known as the old town of Xiguan, about 1218 meters long with more than 238 shops.
Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is a showcase of architecture culture, food culture and folk customs of South China. The extraordinary architecture- "Qilou " is unique in China. There are many famous stores and restaurants here.
