Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle at 08:30 am.
Drive to visit Yongdingmen Tower. Yongdingmen Gate Tower is the biggest one among the seven gates of Beijing's outer city wall in Ming and Qing dynasties. It is also the thoroughfare entering the Beijing City from south. The tower is 24 meters wide and 26 meters high. Now, it became a green park open for public.
Then visit Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture. Located in Beijing Xiannong Altar, Beijing ancient Architecture Museum is the first theme museum collecting, researching and displaying China ancient architecture technologies, art and its development history in China. With lots of pictures, photos, material objects and elaborate models, the museum displays the Chinese ancient architecture in different periods of China.
Move on to visit Huguang Guild Hall. Built in 1807, Beijing Huguang Guild Hall is a bunch of buildings with carved beams and painted rafters, rubbed bricks with tight joints and green walls, splendid and magnificent like palace and exquisitely carved like a palace of prince. With a history of over 200 years, it is buit for Hunan and Hubei people in Beijing for contacts and was mainly used for living or gathering. It is
one of famous guild halls with opera house existing in Beijing now and the first one that was restored as original pattern and open to the public.
Then visit Huguosi Street. With a hisotry of more than 800 years, Huoguosi Street is the 600m-long ancient commercial street named after the former Huguosi Temple. Many food shops with Beijing style architecture line up along west part of street and some celebrities' former residences, Courtyards in the east part. Walking alone the street, visitors can tast different types of snack food and know about the Beijing folk culture.
Visit Diabolo Museum. Located in a small countryard, Diabolo Museum displays development and evolution of history, craft and technique of Diabolo. Diabolo is a kind of tranditional folk toy made of bamboo or
wood. Swinging the diabolo is a unique folk sill of Beijng and preserved as a cultural heritage. There are about 400 diabolo objects of various kinds collected in the museum, some of them dated back to 100 years ago.
Then visit an ancient pagoda. It was first buit in the Yuan Dynasty and is the only extant dense-eave-type brick pagoda in Beijing. In 1753, the pagoda was restored from seven storeys to nime stroeys. With 16 meters high, multi-eaved, octagonal, the pagoda marks that Beijing is an ancient cultural city.
Visit
Xihai Area. Xihai area is a part of Shichahai. With green water, lotus leaves, willows and pavillions, the scenary of this area is beautiful. There is a Huitong Temple on the hill near the lake.
Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.
