Drive to visit Liulichang Culture Street. Located in south of Hepingmen, Liulichang Antique market is a famous antique market originated from Qing Dynasty. Walking along Liulichang street, you will find many ancient style shops for ancient paintings, calligraphy, books, old coins, rubbings, ink stones and ink, etc.
Visit RongBaoZhai. Among the shops in Liulichang street, Rongbaozhai (Studio of Glorious Treasures) is the most famous with a history of over 200 years. the craftsmen here used traditional technique of woodblock color printing to reproduce many internationally renowned reproductions of Chinese paintings.
Then visit a Culture Museum to show the ancient capital style of Beijing. the predecessor of the museum was first built by the emperor Shenzong in Ming dynasty for his mother. It was called the first temple in the capital at that time.
Move on to visit Huguosi Snack Street. Huoguosi Street is an ancient steet with many snack Stores offering various a wide variety of traditional Beijing-flavor snacks including sesame ball, ground beans drink, focal circle, Aiwowo, snow balling usury, and so on, altogether about 100 kinds. Huoguosi nack Street is the best place to know about the snack culture of old Beijing city.
Then go to ascend Drum Tower. The Bell Tower and Drum Tower were listed as a cultural relic under state-level protection in 1996. They were once the time-telling center of the capital city during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Drum Tower was first built in 1272 and rebuilt in 1420 and 1593 in the Ming Dynasty. Drum Tower is a two-storey building made of wood. In the 46.7 meters high building, there are one large drum and 24 smaller drums.
Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.
