Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Beihai Park, Houhai Area and bar street.

Visit Tiananmen Square. The Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions, the square is the final resting place of Chairman Mao Zedong. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Enter the Palace Museum from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Known as Forbidden City, the Palace Museum is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years, 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty. As one of the World Cultural Relics, the palace consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

After lunch, visit Jingshan Park. Jingshan is an artificial hill made from the soil which was excavated for the moats of the Forbidden City. Jingshan consists of five individual peaks, and on the top of each peak there lies an elaborate pavilion. Once as an imperial garden, the Jingshan park was situated right on the north of the Forbidden City.

Move on to visit Beihai Park. Beihai Park was first dug out in the 12th century, with the excavated earth used to form a central island. It is the oldest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. The park covers an area of 69 hectares including a 39-hectare lake. In the park, lakes and hills wind along pavilions and towers, trees and flowers.

The we will transfer you to the Houhai Area and bar street. Houhai is a part of Shichahai Lake. The bar street in this area is famous in Beijing. Enjoy your evening time in this area.
Take taxi back to hotel on your own.

Badaling Great WallDrive to visit Badaling Great Wall
The Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.

Badaling was built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty. This section of the Great Wall is the best preserved and most visited one. It is 7600 meters long and 1000 meters above sea level,commanding a strategic position in ancient times.

On the way back to Beijing city, have an outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube. As the main stadium of the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Stadium, also called Bird's Nest, is located in the southern part of central area of Beijing Olympic Park. The National Stadium was used to hold the Olympic Games, the opening and closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, track and field events and the Soccer finals.
National aquatics center is one of the landmark constructures during the 2008 Olympic Games. It was the major swimming pool constructed for the 2008 Olympic Games. National aquatics center and National Stadium are separately located on both sides of the northern end of Beijing city central axis and they together form a complete Beijing's image of a historical and cultural city.

Taste Chinese tea, enjoy Chinese tea ceremony and have a rest in a local tea house.
China is the hometown and birthplace of Chinese tea.
Being the national drinks of China, tea has a history of four to five thousand years.
Tea culture is one of the specific representative of Chinese culture.

Driver to Xiushui Market. Also called Silk Market or Silk Street Market, it is a shopping center housing 1,700 retail vendors. Except silk and fashion clothes, various kinds of iterms can be bought here.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the dinner.

Day 3. Temple of Heaven, Huguosi Street to discover Beijing local snack for Lunch, Summer Palace.

Drive to visit Temple of Heaven.  Built in 1420 during Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world. The emperor came to the temple every winter to pray for ample harvests and good weather. Strictly built on the basis of philosophical requirements, the temple in many ways features the relationship between Heaven and Earth.

Then go to Huguosi Street to discover Beijing local snack for Lunch. With a hisotry of more than 800 years, Huoguosi Street is the 600m-long ancient commercial street named after the former Huguosi Temple. Many food shops with Beijing style architecture line up along west part of street and some celebrities' former residences, Courtyards in the east part. Walking alone the street, visitors can tast different types of snack food and know about the Beijing folk culture.

Move on to visit Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. The Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.

Day 4. China Garden Museum, Beijing Zoo (Panda), Beijing Hutong (Rickshaw), Beijing Roast Duck Dinner, Beijing Acrobatic Show.

It is is an international cultural center for collecting historical garden relics, carrying forward Chinese traditional culture, displaying the charm of garden art and studying the value of gardens. The museum consists of the main building, indoor gardens and outdoor exhibition areas.

Move on to visit Beijing Zoo to see Great Panda. Beijing Zoo was built in 1955 on the foundation of Wansheng Garden of the Qing Dynasty. It is now the biggest zoo in China with the largest number of animal species. The highlight of Beijing Zoo is the national treasure-giant panda.

Then we will visit Beijing Hutong. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.

Then go to taste Beijing Roast Duck and enjoy Chinese Acrobatic Show.
