Then visit Imperial College. It was the the highest learning institute during Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Emperors in imperial China used to frequent the place to read Confucian classics to thousands of students.

Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. The tower located on the southeast coner of the city wall is the only and biggest tower around the city wall's coner. It was first built in 1436 as military defensive structure.
