Chinese Acrobatics

Chinese Acrobatics is one of the oldest performing arts, dating back of between 475-221BC. Chinese acrobatics can be called a national art. It is one of the art forms most popular among the Chinese people. In the past twenty some years, some acrobats in China have taken this folk art to a new height. However, in 1949 the people's government began developing national arts, and acrobatics gained a new life. Chinese acrobatics makes use of costumes, props and lighting too, which represent the optimism, resourcefulness, and courage of the Chinese people.
