Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival, transfer to hotel

Be picked up from Beijing Capital International Airport or Beijing Train Station by driver and private vehicle.  Transfer to hotel for checking in.  Remainder of the day is at free.  You may take a walk near your hotel if time permit.  The hotel is located in downtown, closed to Hutong area.  The hotel building is in ancient Chinese style in 3 to 4 star level, providing safe and clean accommodation.  You may touch the Chinese building and designing elements.

Day 2:

Tiananmen, Tianmen Rostrum,  Forbidden City (Nine Dragon Screen,  Timepiece Hall), National Museum, Tea (Breakfast, Lunch).

Be picked up from hotel at 09:00 am. Drive to visit Tiananmen Square.
Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions.  Chairman Mao stand on the Tiananmen Rostrum declared the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.  

Today, you also have the chance to aboard the rostrum to have the same angle of view with chairman mao.  

Then we will enter the Forbidden City from the north end of Tiananmen Square.
Forbidden City also called Palace Museum. It is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years. As one of the World Cultural Relics, the palace consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

Take sightseeing in Forbidden City along the central axis for 1.5 to 2 hours.
During the visiting, you will find The Nine Dragon Screen and Timepiece Hall in Forbidden City. 

Drive to a local restaurant to taste a kind of popular local food "Zhajiangmian". It is a kind of Chinese noodles with fried soy bean sauce and Side dish. The side dish usually include radish, cucumber or other local veggies. And you have chance to taste some local snack, such as 'Wandouhuang' or 'Mustard pier'... Waiters usually greeting you loudly when you enter and leave the restaurant.

When we have lunch for Zhaojiaomian, it is not only to eat noodles, it is regarded as the part of Beijing local culture. Tasting the sauced noodles while listening to the greetings of waiters, you will have a clearly awareness that you are in Beijing now.


Then we will visit National Museum.  The National Museum of China consists of two separate museums: the Museum of the Chinese Revolution in the northern wing and the National Museum of Chinese History in the southern wing. The National Museum of China houses over 620,385 cultural items in its permanent art collection.

The museum also possess many Chinese historical artifacts that would not be found in other museums such as the heaviest ancient bronze- Simuwu Ding.  


Move on to visit a local temple, which has a history of more than 1000 years. Compared with part of commercial temple, Beijingservice prefer to show you this real living temple. Chanting monks, sincerely prayers, sounding birds combines with Long bell in this quiet temple, can you drive out all distracting thoughts.

Travelers is seldom to be found.    It is different world in and out of the temple.  It is believed that you will enjoy the same sightseeing and feeling with Tagore, the most famous poet.

Day 3:

Ming Tombs,  Lunch,  Mutianyu Great Wall (Breakfast, Lunch, ) 

English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 08:30 am. 
Drive 1.5 hours to the Ming Tombs.
Ming Tombs is the final resting place of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors, along with 23 empresses and a number of concubines.  It has a history of over 600 years.  Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the Ming Tombs features splendid landscape.

  Chang Ling (the Tomb of Chang) was built by the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty in 1409 AD. And it is the largest tomb in architectural scale. The hall of is the largest structure of nanmu wood in China. Visit Changling for 1 hour.

Then we will visit Sacred Way.
Sacred Way stretches 7 kilometers from south to north through the center of the tombs area. It was originally built for the first tomb Changling - the tomb of Emperor Yongle, the most powerful emperor in the Ming dynasty. But as the later tombs were built either to the right or to the left, it became the main road to all of them.

Travelers may find many huge stone statues along the sacred way, which is the guard of honor for the emperor buried in the tomb.

Drive to a local restaurant to have lunch and a short rest.
Today we will taste Beijing local dish in a traditional local restaurant.   The most famous dish include Qianlong cabbage, Old Beijing homemade intestine, Pastry shrimp...


Drive one and half hours to Mutianyu Great Wall.
Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.  

Mutianyu was first built in the mid-6th century. It is the longest fully-restored Great Wall with 22 original style watchtowers. Mutianyu Great Wall features picturesque landscape with 90% forest coverage rate. The scenery in spring and autumn is excellent. Mutianyu Great Wall is not so crowded as Badaling section. Take sightseeing on Mutianyu section Great Wall for 2 hours.

Day 4:

Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven,  Chinese Tea, Beijing Hutong  (Breakfast, Lunch, )

Drive to visit Summer Palace
Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List. Take sightseeing in this attraction for about one  and half hours. 

Drive to a local restaurant to have lunch to include Beijing Roast Duck. 
Eating Beijing Roast duck is seen to be one of the two things you are absolutely supposed to do while in Beijing. But actually, part of western travelers can not accept the flaveor of roast duck, so we only arranged Roast Duck as one part of the lunch.  Travelers may taste local dish of Beijing.

Proceed to visit Temple of Heaven
Built in 1420, Temple of Heaven is situated south of Beijing city. It is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world.  Travelers may find local people take moring excercising in Temple of Heaven.   Take sightseeing in Temple of Heaven for about one hour.

Enjoy Chinese tea and have a rest in a local tea house. China is the hometown and birthplace of Chinese tea. Being the national drinks of China, tea has a history of four to five thousand years.  Tea culture is one of the specific representative of Chinese culture.

Move on to visit Beijing Hutong.
Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.  Travelers may also take challenge to ride the rickshaw, if you never do it before.

Be transferred to Train Station or Airport for departure.
