Detailed Itinerary of Beijing Religion Tour

Day 1: Gangwa Church, Temple of Heaven, Chongwenmen Church
Our English-speaking tour guide & private car/van will pick you up from your hotel lobby.
Transfer to Gangwa Church, first built in 1863 by London Missionary Society. It is one of the earliest churches in Beijing.
Proceed to visit the Temple of Heaven.Spend time to learn the history, architecture, court anecdotes and etc.
You may also try to imagine how emperors in ancient times offered sacrifices to the heaven and prayed for good harvest.
Then move on to visit the Chongwenmen Church.
Originally built in 1870, Chongwenmen Church is the first American Methodist church and largest existing Protestant church in Beijing.
At the end of the tour, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 2: Hutongs, Bell & Drum Towers, Lama Temple, Tanzhe Temple
Pick you up from the hotel lobby and transfer to visit the hutongs by rickshaw.
Cycle around all kinds of alleyways, we will be able to experience the local life by visiting various courtyards houses, Shichahai, Tea House and etc. During the hutong tour, we will also visit Bell & Drum Towers.
Afterwards, visit the Lama Temple, a renowned lama temple of the Yellow Hat Sect of Lamaism. It is the only downtown Buddhism temple in Beijing. Lama Temple is also a former imperial palace of Qing dynasty.
Proceed to Tanzhe Temple, a Buddhist temple located at the Western Hills. Built in Jin Dynasty (265-420), it is one of the oldest temples in Beijing.
After the visit of Tanzhe Temple, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3: Xishiku Cathedral, Tiananemen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace
Be picked up from your hotel lobby by our English-speaking tour guide and private car/van.
Then transfer to visit Xishiku Cathedral, a historic Catholic church. The church was first built in 1703 by Jesuits, on a land bestowed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty after he had been cured by the Jesuits.
Afterwards, transfer to visit Tiananmen Square.
Stroll around the square for a short time to observe the surrounding buildings.
Then we will visit Forbidden City along the central axis for 1.5-2 hours..
Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the world's largest palace complex.
Then proceed to Summer Palace, the imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasties. Take about one hour to explore this serene respite.
At the end of the tour, transfer back to the hotel.
